Christopher M. Jones, Esq. – Newberry, FL

Chris graduated from Rutgers University with Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Psychology. He received his law degree from the University of California in Berkeley where he was awarded a Berkeley Law Foundation Fellowship. He is currently the Executive Director of Florida Institutional Legal Services, Inc. (FILS), which is a statewide legal services office based in Newberry, Florida, serving institutionalized clients throughout the state. FILS has earned major improvements for its clients in the past decade through successful legal challenges to the austere and abusive lockdown units in Florida’s prisons, the abuse of mentally ill inmates with pepper spray and tear gas, and the inadequate mental health treatment provided to the civilly committed.
