The number of Broward children removed from their homes over abuse and neglect concerns has increased in the past year, confounding child welfare officials who are struggling to pinpoint the reasons for the rise.
Investigators working for the Broward Sheriff”s Office removed more than 1,525 children from their families during the 12 months ending June 30 this year, compared with 1,129 in the same period the prior year, according to figures from ChildNet.
